Scotland's Young PLayer of the Year Gary Naysmith looks the favourite to be Town's next signing. The 21-year-old defender, currently with Hearts, has been watched by George Burley for some time and may well join Town before the weekend. He is thought to be worth around the £3 million mark. Hearts are cash-strapped and may be in a position where they have to sell several of their better players. Town have also been linked with their midfielder Colin Cameron. If Town do sign Naysmith it could bring to an end any hope that Town would re-sign Mauricio Taricco as reported yesterday. The Argentinian would fetch around the same figure as Naysmith and plays the same position. George Burley saw Taricco come on as a sub for Spurs at Peterborough last night, although the Town manager emphasised that his role there was to watch Spurs, Town's first opponents, rather than any specific player. |
